Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a dedicated Candy Coiler to join a dynamic team in Baltimore City. This role involves managing the coiling process of candy, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This position is perfect for individuals who are meticulous, have a keen eye for detail, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure that the coiling station is prepared for coiling.
  • Load candy pieces from the conveyor onto the coiler.
  • Guide coiled candy onto pans and align them onto a 5.5ft sizer rack without causing damage.
  • Ensure candy is properly dusted with sugar and keep up with the machine's output.
  • Visually inspect all candy to meet quality standards and follow procedures to remove candy for rework.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the machine throughout the day and work individually and as a team to clean machines and workstations at the end of each shift.
  • Adhere to company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF, and safe food procedures.
  • Write production records legibly, accurately, and completely.
  • Communicate with other employees and management respectfully to complete work tasks.
  • Ability to work additional hours if needed.
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to individually lift between 30lbs to 50lbs consistently throughout the work shift.
  • Capability to push, pull, and transport racks and carts on wheels up to 700 lbs.
  • Ability to stand in one place for 100% of an 8-hour shift and perform regular walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel products, objects, tools, and controls.
  • Visual acuity to see products from a close range and distance and read production records.
  • Ability to handle ingredients: Allergens- Milk, Soy, Wheat.
  • Maintain a safety-first mentality and neat, clean, and presentable appearance, including clean uniforms.
  • Must be able to wear safety toe shoes and required PPE- hearing protection, aprons, safety glasses, hairnets.
  • Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety, and SQF regulatory program requirements.
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral procedures and instructions given by management.
  • Must be punctual and adhere to attendance policies.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.

Work Hours

Monday - Friday 6:30AM - 3:30PM; occasional Saturdays 6am-noon.

Benefits

Competitive hourly pay at $18.00 per hour.
